Week 10 - last day of term!

Hi all,

Thanks for your help this term. It has been a productive term with lots of learning. I am looking forward to testing kids in reading next term and seeing their progress.

The Market Day yesterday was hugely successful. We sold all but five of our garden ornaments and made $117. This was a grand effort by all. The kids also enjoyed going around the other stalls and spending their money. It cost us $57 to produce 140 stress balls and 70 ladybug garden decorations. The class will decide, with my guidance, how to spend the $60 profit next term.

Stars of Term 3 were Levi Abernethy and Hafsa Saeed who are exemplary students. Levi and Hafsa are great role models who are consistently focused and working hard in class. Well done! The PB4L draw winner was Lola Davis.

Have a great holiday and I'll see you next term. School resumes at 8.55am on October 15th.

Mr Henderson.

Last day tomorrow

Hi all,
Tomorrow is the last day of Term 3. The students of Room 19 have been so good I am giving them an end of term party tomorrow. There will be plenty of food so don't give them anything for lunch - just something for morning tea. You should be proud of your child. I am.
Cheers,
Mr Henderson.

Week 9

Hi all,

What a busy week we've had! The kids had a blast at Tip Top (see above) - I am sure the highlight for many was the icecream at the end. Thanks again to the parents who came along. Without you it wouldn't have been possible.

The New Windsor School Market Day is nearly upon us - 11.30am on September 27th. If you have other kids in the Harakeke Roopu their market is at 9.30am. In Room 19 we have had a production line going with kids working on both stress balls and garden ornaments to sell at the market. It has given them a good taste of what it would be like to be part of a commercial operation. The stress balls have come in handy ;-)

A reminder that Term 3 finishes at 3pm on September 28th and school resumes at 8.55am on October 15th.

Stars of the Week were James Bosman-Gartner for his contributions to class discussions and Sofia Hamid for being a great teacher's helper. The PB4L draw winner was Aniar Sua.

Have a great weekend!

Mr Henderson.

Week 8

Hi all,

Another week has flown by and there are just two weeks left of Term 3. Next week we are going to Tip Top on Wednesday and have class photos on Thursday. Thanks to the parents who have offered their help for the Tip Top trip. Can you please be at school by 10.50am for a departure time of 11am? We should be back at school by 2pm. Children who normally sit in a booster seat need to bring these with them.

A notice went home last week for Athletics Day which is early next term at Mt Smart Stadium. A permission slip and $6 needs to be returned by the end of Term 3.

A reminder the New Windsor School Market Day is on September 27th. Room 19’s stall is open from 11.30am-12.30pm – come and buy some ladybug decorations for your garden and a stress ball to unwind J

Stars of the Week this week are Fine Paongo for his contribution to Tongan Language Week and Minwoo Han for great listening on the mat. The PB4L draw winner was Tegan White.

Have a great weekend.

Mr Henderson.

Week 7

Hi all,

It's been a great week in Room 19. Students enjoyed their time at the Tristar Gymnasium in Mt Roskill. We have finished making our first lot of ladybugs for the Market Day. They are looking great - or "cute", as the kids say. By now you should have the Tip Top notice. Keep returning the permission slips with the $8.

Next week we will make the last of the ladybugs, then start the stress balls. I have changed the way we'll make these as flour will be rather messy if the balloons break. Now, we're making playdough to put inside.

Stars of the Week are Lola Davis and Xavier Hansen-Bae. The winner of the PB4L draw is Levi Abernethy. Congratulations to all the stars.

Have a great weekend.

Mr Henderson.
