Hi all,
Wow! Only one week left of Term 2. Where has it gone? Have you checked out the photos on the blog from Wednesday? We had a great trip to the Stardome Observatory with a bonus walk to the summit of One Tree Hill and time on the playground. A great day out!
I hope you enjoyed reading your child's progress report last night. Don't forget Student Involved Conferences are on next Monday and Tuesday. These are a great opportunity to speak to me about your child's progress and any concerns you may have. There is still time to book.
Stars of the Week were Audrina Singh and Tayyab Ahmed. The PB4L draw winner was Hafsa Saeed.
Have a great weekend.

Stardome Observatory trip - Term 2
Thanks to Anna Davis for the following photos, taken at Stardome yesterday. The children had a blast and it was a great trip - consolidating their learning in class during the term. They learnt about the different planets in our solar system and saw a 360 degree show about the night sky - seeing the many constellations as well as Jupiter and Mars.

Week 8
Hi all,
It has been yet another busy week of learning in Room 19. Students have been busy doing reading, writing and maths. In topic they made constellation slide shows which have gone home. Today they made sherbet as part of measurement - our focus in strand this term. They had an active afternoon so I hope they haven't come home on too much of a sugar high. I apologise if they have.
We’re going to the Stardome Observatory
on Wednesday, reports go home on Thursday and Student Involved Conferences are on
July 2nd and 3rd. If you haven’t booked online there is
still time to do so. I look forward to talking to parents about their child’s
learning.
I have emailed parents an invitation to have these blog updates emailed - I thought this would be more convenient for you. I hope by now you have accepted the invitation and are reading this. If not, you have 14 days from when the email was sent. Any queries regarding this email me on khenderson@newwindsor.school.nz.
Stars of the Week were Fine Paongo and Jia-Li O’Shea for their outstanding Matariki art work. This has also gone home and I encourage you to enter it in the competition run by Stardome. The prize is an Ipod Touch. The PB4L draw winner was Jia-Li O’Shea.
Have a great weekend.
Mr Henderson.

Week 7
Hi all,
Another week has come and gone. There are still a few more permission slips to come in for our trip to Stardome Observatory. Please return these by June 22nd. We're going on June 27th and it is proving to be a popular trip for parents and caregivers. I can only take two with me so had to turn some away. Thanks for all the offers of help. If you offered, your child has brought home a notice today advising whether you can come or not.
Children have drawn stars this week as part of Matariki. They will go on display in the classroom and have also gone home. Check them out and enter them in a competition for an Ipod Touch. Details are on the entry form.
Soccer coaching started this week and the children had a blast! Many have a competitive nature and they love Physical Education.
Well done to Sofia Hamid and Aniar Sua who represented New Windsor School at the cluster swimming competition this week. You did us proud! Aniar won all her races and Sofia finished third in all hers - a grand effort!
Stars of the Week are Mela Shallard and Brianna Wise for working diligently and using their 'inside voice'. This is a focus in class at the moment. The PB4L draw winner is Mela Shellard.
Have a great weekend. Go the ABs!
