I would like to thank all the students in Room 19 for another great week. Stars of the Week were Xavier Hansen-Bae and Aniar Sua. Lola Davis won the PB4L draw. These three students all chose to have morning tea with me next week for their reward. Well done!
Don't forget the family picnic at school tonight and goal setting meetings next Tuesday and Wednesday. More information about these are going home on Monday with your child's home study sheet. Today your child brought a notice home about our trip on March 13th. Please return the permission slip and money as soon as possible.

Week 3
It's the end of week 3 and your child has had another successful week of learning. Your child should have taken home their home study book and tasks to complete. There is a selection for them to choose from and they must complete six over two weeks. It is due on Friday, February 23rd. In addition to this they should be reading for 10 minutes every night and learning their basic facts. They have access to Sumdog, Studyladder and Spelling City websites.
Keep an eye out for blog updates during the week, normally on a Friday.
Stars of the Week are Essa Sheikh and Audrina Singh. Sofia Hamid won the PB4L prize. Every day I hand out PB4L (Positive Behaviour For Learning) tickets to students showing New Windsor School values - Respect, Responsibility and Being the best we can be - and I do a draw on Friday. The Stars of the Week and PB4L winner can choose 20 minutes on the playground, 20 minutes on a computer or morning tea with me :-)

Welcome to 2018!
Kia ora,
I hope you and your families had a nice long summer break. We were certainly very lucky with the weather. I spent a lot of time in the Coromandel. I hope you managed to get away or do day trips around our beautiful city. The next two weeks are short which is nice to ease into the new school year. Your child will be doing lots of fun activities to learn about their new class mates. I look forward to getting to know them and yourselves. Check this blog regularly for updates. I'll be using it throughout the year to update you on what your child has been doing in class and what is coming up in the next week. Feel free to ask any questions.
