Week 9 - Thursday, April 1st

Hi all,

It was great seeing you all these last two days and discussing your child's learning. Your child has been busy lately and they have certainly earned a well-deserved Easter break. Stars of the Week are Sahar, Leah-Anela, Ayesha, Wil and Prisha. Below are some photos of Easter Bunny art they did this week. Enjoy! Have a great long weekend and I'll see you next Wednesday.

Week 8 - Friday March 26th

Hi all,

What a fun week it has been with Khalid coming in his pizza truck and the students designing their own food truck business. This has been great integration of maths, reading, writing and art. Swimming has come to an end and students have learned lots. In reading this week students read a book about New Zealand birds then looked for them around school (see photos below). Stars of the Week are Bahes for his contributions at Circle Time and Kiri for his great reading.

Week 7 - Friday, March 19th

Hi all,

Students of Room 15 started their swimming lessons this week and are learning lots. A reminder this is part of the NZ Curriculum and every child must participate unless they bring a note and have a good reason not to. Swimming will continue every day next week. Next week is also Maths Week and there is some exciting stuff planned. Congratulations to the Stars of the Week - Juwairiah, Mele, Anthony, Sahar and Ayesha. Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week.

Friday, March 5th

 Hi all,

I am pleased that we are moving back to Level 2 on Sunday and school can open for everyone on Monday. I have enjoyed working with your child on Zoom this week and some in the bubble at school. Thanks for all your hard work with your child at home - I know how difficult it is!

Today's Star of the Day is Viral. See his fantastic work below. Ka pai Viral. Thanks to everyone else who shared this week.

Have a relaxing weekend and I'll see you all at school on Monday.

Thursday, March 4th

Hi all,

With no community cases for three days in a row it's looking promising that tomorrow Jacinda will announce we will go back to Level 2 (who knows, maybe Level 1). Fingers crossed! Even Level 2 would be great so your tamariki can return to school on Monday. Watch this space!

Today's Star of the Day is Wil for his amazing New Windsor Way competencies poster (see below). Ka pai Wil.

Enjoy your day at home with your whanau tomorrow. I will be teaching the bubble at school so won't be doing a Zoom but will check emails after school.

Regards,

Mr Henderson.

Week 5 - Alert Level 3 - Distance Learning at home

Hi all, welcome back to Level 3! During this lockdown I'll share work each day of one of Room 15's students. If your work goes on here you are the Star of the Day and when school reopens you get two chocolates, half an hour golden time and can sit on the couch. The first star is Isabelle - ka pai Isabelle! You can see her work below. Remember to share your work when complete and you might see it on here too. Stay safe in your bubble and I hope to see you back at school soon.
