Week 11

It is with a tinge of sadness that I write this final blog for Term One. I have enjoyed teaching your child immensely this term, which ends at 3pm tomorrow (April 13th). I wish you and your family a restful break and I'll see your child back refreshed and ready for more learning at 8.55am on April 30th.

Tomorrow is PJ and Movie Day. Your child can wear their pyjamas if they wish but I'd suggest bringing a dressing gown with this cold weather we're currently experiencing.

Stars of the Week are Jia-Li O'Shea for her progress in mathematics and Aniar Sua for always using her 'inside voice' in class. PB4L winners are Lola Davis and Brianna Wise. Congratulations girls!

I'l see you all back next week for the last week of Term One. Have a safe and happy weekend.

Week 7

Hi everyone,

This has been an exciting week with lots of fun activities done outside in EOTC (Education Outside The Classroom). I bet your child has slept well each night - I know I have (except for last night when my cat spent half the night chasing a rat around the house :-/)

Stars of the Week were Tuipulotu Palanite and Minwoo Han for their efforts in EOTC and the PB4L draw was won by Tegan White.

Next week is a normal week in the classroom although we have a cross country practice on Monday and the cross country will be held on Wednesday. Please make sure your child comes to school with suitable footwear on those days.

Have a great weekend!

Monday is orienteering, Tuesday we are going for bush walks in the Waitakere Ranges, Wednesday is water-based activities (students will need their togs), Thursday is tug o' war, scavenger hunt, art and other fun activities, Friday is reflection time and sports in the afternoon.

As next week is EOTC week there will be no homework - this will resume in week 8.

Stars of the Week are Julian Beretta and Esha Patel for their enthusiastic learning. Tegan White won the PB4L draw. Well done!

I am doing a survey to see how many parents read this blog. If you are please send a quick email to khenderson@newwindsor.school.nz.

Week 5

Hi everyone,

It's hard to believe we're nearly half way through Term One. It has been another busy week in Room 19. Sofia Hamid and James Bosman-Gartner are Stars of the Week. Sofia Hamid also won the PB4L draw. Well done!

Permission slips and money for the EOTC week are slowly coming in. There is just a week to go so please return these if you haven't already done so. It will be a fun week with lots of fun activities planned. I still need a few parent helpers to come to Arataki on March 13th.

I enjoyed meeting everyone at the goal setting meetings this week. Students have set some great goals independently and most are very achievable. Keep talking to your child about their goals over the next six months and track their progress in meeting them.

If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to email me at khenderson@newwindsor.school.nz.

Have a great weekend.

Mr Henderson.
